Tax

There are so many taxes in Australia, you would be forgiven for not having heard of them all. Knowing your obligations and complying with them in full, on time every time is a key to staying out of trouble. Our highly trained and experienced accountants will guide you every step of the way.

Taxation need not rob your business of profit

That shouldn’t imply generosity! “If anybody in this country doesn’t minimise their tax, they want their heads read!”. So said the late Kerry Packer all those years ago and it still rings true. However, Australia’s tax system can be complex and confusing! Far too many business owners are overpaying tax. We deal with complex business taxation issues on a daily basis, so we are well placed to ensure that you are not one of them.

How it Works

1

Understanding your business and personal tax affairs.

We ask questions and review prior year information, if relevant, to identify your accounting and taxation needs, historical compliance, risks and exposures that may exist.

2

Scoping engagement.

We identify the things you may need and classify those needs as either one-off or recurring in nature. We discuss and agree those needs and co-create the scope with you.

3

Agreement.

We agree and document the scope, pricing, timing, terms and conditions with you. Of course, no business stands still so this will always remain responsive to your needs. As your needs evolve, we recognise that a new scope and agreement may be appropriate.

4

Execution.

This involves the preparation, approval and on-time lodgement of your various tax returns and other submissions, as well as attending to all the associated correspondence with you and with the relevant tax authorities.

5

Ongoing communication.

Towards the end of the financial year, we will reach you out to ensure you are aware of and have taken the necessary steps to legitimately minimise your tax and understand the cash flow implications of any tax payable or refundable. If the matter requires closer attention, we will suggest you undertake a tax planning session with us about 2 months before the end of the financial year, which will provide you sufficient time to process all necessary items to obtain the best tax outcome.
