With help from BridgePoint Group’s Head of Innovation Advisory, Alan Baghdasarayan, a group of respected Pakistani professionals recently learnt about business incentives for innovative companies operating in Australia.
The group, known as The Pakistani Professionals and Business Entrepreneurs in Australia (PPBEA) is an Incorporated Association established in 2017 to provide a platform for Professionals and Business Entrepreneurs in Australia. The group meet regularly and BridgePoint Group’s Alan Baghdasarayan and Ather Ahmed attended their October catch up on the invitation of its president, Dr. Kayani, whom Alan first got to know as a fellow mentor at the Macquarie University Incubator.
The event was honoured to have a very special guest with Mr Muhammad Ashraf, the Consul General of Pakistan in Sydney, and Minister (Trade & Investment) for Australia, New Zealand and Fiji in attendance.
At this meeting, Alan was asked by Dr. Kayani to present an overview of the Australian Government grants and incentives on offer to help fund innovative activity in any business.
The audience was very receptive to the presentation. With over thirty professionals present, it was a surprise that not many were yet aware of the incentives and grants on offer. Even Mr Ashraf was surprised at the level of funding available to businesses in Australia.
The event was extremely well run and BridgePoint Group’s Ather Ahmed was able to connect with members of the wider Pakistani business community. Ather Ahmed mentioned “it was very pleasing to see and meet so many Pakistani expats doing so well in Australia with their businesses.”
