Export Market Development Grant – Fact Sheet

Despite recent Government attempts to change the program structure, Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) remain similar to how they were.

The new program was to offer funds on a prospective basis instead of a retrospective basis.

At the current period in time, grant applications have outstripped Austrade’s expectations. Our sense is that Austrade may revert back to the old EMDG system sometime soon.

We have compiled this EMDG fact sheet to assist with any initial queries you may have regarding the EMDG program. As you can tell, it is a changing and challenging space. We have enormous respect for the Austrade team, so perhaps it’s just teething issues which (we hope) may work out better in the long term.
